It was previously known as the Golden Temple, but was renamed in March 2005 by the SGPC. Gir forests and Tiger reserves

Coming from the names it's a reservation with lots of tigers inside, though it's well surrounded and safe for the tourists to walk through the forest. Also it's a place where Asiatic Lions are found. And it should be said that it's the only place in the whole world. If you want to watch real tigher inside the reservation, it's a good idea to rent an elephant and sit on his back, tigers do nothing to elephants. Also take into account that walking alone in that tiger reservation isn't a good idea at all, according to statistic, lots of tourists became victims or tigers man-eaters.
